Is Cliffview Resort nice?
Yes, Cliffview Resort is nice! Our resort has been a family owned and operated lake resort since 1975. With 26 units, we are one of the largest lodging facilities on Lake Whitney. We offer a classic vacation spot with a wide variety of recreations for your family. Come and enjoy our swimming pool, fishing barn, boat docks, volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, ping pong table, playgrounds and more.
How old is the resort?
The original resort was built in the 1950's and has had additions and remodeling over the years. Although our resort has a retro feel, all of our facilities are maintained and up-to-date.
Do you have a view of the lake and access to the water?
Most of our cabins from the patio area have a view of the horseshoe-shaped cove where our marina is located. Access to the lake is provided from all cabins via a drive down the hillside to the parking area at the boat docks. We also have a short, slightly steep, hiking trail down the hillside to the marina area.
Is there swimming in the lake?
Yes, we have swimming, please keep in mind we are located in the deepwater harbor area. The only shallow water that we have is at our launching ramp. Swimming is at your own risk, we do not have a roped-off swimming area.
Is your swimming pool heated?
During the spring months of March and April, occupancy and weather permitting we heat the pool.
Do you have a place to park my boat?
We have a concrete launching ramp for our guests and offer a large covered or uncovered boat dock. Lights and electrical outlets available at covered dock only. There is a daily fee of $15.00 per boat including launching.
Do you rent motor boats or long term boat slip rental?
We have a hotel/motel lease and are not licensed to rent motor boats or boat slips.
Do you have RV or camping spaces?
We do not have facilities for RVs or tent camping. The nearest park with full hook-ups is Lofers Bend Park, which is about 1 mile across the dam from Cliffview Resort.
Do you have fishing available?
Yes our small fishing house is loved by many, guests can feel free to fish on our docks and shorelines as well.
Do you sell bait and fishing licenses?
Bait is available in our office. Minnows are available 24 hours on the honor system. 1st come, 1st serve. Bait is delivered weekly.
Are groceries available nearby?
About 8 miles away are two grocery stores (Brookshire Brothers and David's Grocery) located in Whitney, Texas. The Dollar General store is located a quarter mile up the road from the resort.
Are the kitchens furnished?
Yes, our kitchens are stocked with basic dinnerware, cookware, microwave and coffee makers.
Do the cabins have outdoor grills?
All lodging with full kitchen accommodations also include a patio charcoal grill.
Will we have daily maid service?
We offer a daily towel exchange between 9am and noon. Place dirty linens on your front patio in the provided laundry basket. Staff will pick up and exchange between 9am and noon. Full maid service is not provided.
Do the cabins have cable TV?
The resort receives good reception of the network and local channels in the Dallas/Ft. Worth market. Every room on the resort is equipped with a TV.
Are there phones in the rooms?
We do not have phones in the rooms.
Is Internet access available?
Yes, you may log on to our Wi-Fi service at no extra charge, the password is available in the office. Being in a rural area, our internet strength is great for social media and emails, but lacks in streaming capabilities.
Do you have a restaurant?
Our resort does not offer a restaurant, we encourage you to visit the many local options. All of the local restaurants are individually owned and operated, and offer a variety of menus.
Do you have a golf course?
We do not have a golf course, but there are a few courses on the east shore of the lake: White Bluff, Lake Whitney Country Club, and Bosque Valley Golf Club.
Are you open year-round?
We are open year round. Feel free to call us for reservations.
Do you accept pets?
Yes, we allow pets and for a fee of $15.00 per animal per stay. Undisclosed pets will be charged $50 per stay. Pets should be leashed while on the grounds and ask that you do not allow them to be left alone in the rooms. Any damages incurred by pets will be charged to your credit card.
What time may we arrive?
Our check-in time is 4:00 pm because our check-out time is 12:00 pm. We always try to accommodate an early check-in if the room is unoccupied the night before your arrival. Arrangements for a late check-out must be made at the time of your reservation and subject to availability. There is a fee for late check-out.
Do you have non-smoking rooms?
All of our rooms are strictly non-smoking.
